Centrify purchase and some problems

[ Edited ]

Hi there,

We want to add in our company our Macbook's and iMac's to our Active Diretory.

By looking for a solution I had found your services & products and would be interst to a standad licence from the active diretory intregration.

I need to configure at our company in the next days all macintosh's.

I had download the express version to test centrify. And this would work better than the standard directory utility from apple.

So I had write some Mails to the support that I'm interest to your product.
Also we want to purchase this to get some support.

First we want to bind 6 Macbooks to our Active Diretory.

All accounts should only use network home folders.

With your mac agent from the download side this was not a big problem to set this up.

But after this we have problems with Microsoft Office 2016.

Excel / Word /Outlook can be open by a local account, but on a network account with a network home dir we will get erros  and at the first time office will be open, after a restart not.
I hope there could be a way to solve this.

This is an important part for our work.

We have also an Exchange Server in our company, so that we're looking for a working solution.
If someone could contact me to request an price and a way to purchase your product would be fine.

so best Regards,

David Faller

Re: Centrify purchase and some problems

Thanks for your reply and your private message,

But at the moment I can't use the business e-mail for registring here,
We are building at the moment a new Webhome for our company and switch to exchange.

So it would be great if someone could help me till we can use our work - email for registring and buying your product.

We can't get Microsoft Office working.

I had setup open directory corrently and the ad checks passed.

(only that we have one dns server)
This will be shown as a warning.

I had mount active directory users to the home folder \\dc.company.de\\\profiles\%username%
binded to the drive z

profile path I had try to set the same path and a different one without result.
Microsoft Office crashes when I want to start Word or Excel. one time it works, after restarting or force closing and restarting the icon is pending but does not start.

I had try a look to the pathes on the macintosh and
the folders are mounted to \\smb\dc.company.de\profiles\

I had read there could be problems with the permissions?

greetings,

David

We had sovled the problem with Microsoft Office by purchasing the Acronis Access Connect.

So we can't save from outlook or other apps the keywords to the mac integrated key chain.

Please can someone contact me?

Re: Centrify purchase and some problems

Hi Dan - Welcome to the Centrify Community and thanks for posting your questions. We have received your Sales request and support case and an account specialist will reach out to you directly. We sincerely apologize for any delays you may have encountered when contacting our offices.

Your previous post had mentioned issues with using Outlook with network profiles and this configuration does not appear to be supported by Microsoft - only local profiles are supported per the following Microsoft article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2800895/outlook-for-mac-is-a-locally-cached-email-client. Is this the use-case scenario you are attempting to use?

Also curious if your keychain issues seem to be related to the symptoms mentioned within this Microsoft article link?

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Keychain-access-message-when-opening-an-Office-2016-for-Mac...

Thanks again for your post and I look forward to your reply.
